Tips for the Final Exam

Here already, next week is the final exam for HIS, some tips:
1. Bring a calculator
2. Read the Hospitality Technology download on Self Service
3. Understand the core capabilities that the PMSs have in common
4. Understand the capabilities that differentiate your PMS from the others presented
5. Understand how your PMS facilitates, or not, online booking
6. Undestand how your PMS affect operations - marketing - guest service
7. Be able to articulate the role the PMS has in relation to other hotel tech, e.g. key systems, kiosks, etc.

You may use your notes, print outs of the materials...you may not use others' notes. Needless to say, the questions will not be the same for both classes.

Any problems or questions, just let me know BEFORE the exam date.

We will not have a class during final week.

Reading for 29 + 30/11 + Class Work after final

The reading for the next class...and the last class...can be downloaded from
Hospitality Technology's Research Page

The special section is shown above...the text next to the image says
Hotel Check-In/Check-Out
- Restaurant Order and Pay
- Consumer Perception of Self-Service in Hospitality

You will need to register to download...use AIM's coordinates, no need to put in personal information.

Your homework - please post in your blog a discussion question based on the article. It should require analysis, not description, and force class members to think.
Example:
Will check-in kiosks work well in luxury hotels in your home country? Why, Why not
We will use the questions in the next class.
